Retired Deputy Richard Souza

Today we honor the life of a very important man who was one of the founding members of the Fresno Deputy Sheriff's Association in 1973. He was also the first President of the organization.

Retired deputy Richard Souza passed away on September 2, 2023. Following his career with the sheriff's office, he and his wife enjoyed retirement on the Central Coast. 

Our prayers are with his family and friends at this time. For those who are interested in attending, graveside services will be held on September 12th at 9:30 a.m. 

at Arroyo Grande Cemetery.

We are grateful for his leadership and the foresight he displayed in initiating an organization that has served thousands of members throughout the years.
